Blackberry is one of the popular mobile brands that develops and designs smartphones. The company has announced the Classic, a qwerty phone in June, 2014. It is specially designed for those who desire a touchscreen along with a qwerty keypad. The box packs a handset, battery, charger, USB cable, headset, user manual and a warranty card. Let's take a look at the specifications of Blackberry Classic.

Design and Display

The Classic has a signature Blackberry design that not only looks good but even feels good to hold. This bar shaped device is easy to use and handle. The phone comes with a capacitive touchscreen of 3.46-inches which provides a resolution of 720x720 pixels and a 291 ppi pixel density. It also features a qwerty keypad with well placed hard keys. It has accelerometer, compass, gyro and proximity sensors.

Hardware and Software

The Blackberry Classic is equipped with a powerful Dual-core 1.5 MHz processor and a Qualcomm MSM8960 chip-set. It has a RAM of 2GB and an internal memory of 16 GB which can be expanded up to 128 GB via micro SD card. It is based on the Blackberry 10.3.1 operating system that has the ability to handle apps that are thrown on its way.

Telephony and Messaging

The Classic operates on 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz), 3G (HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz) and 4G(LTE 700/850/1700/1900/2100/2600 MHz) network frequencies. For messaging, the phone is featured with SMS, MMS, email, push mail, IM and BBM 6. It also features predictive text input in order to facilitate typing.

Camera

The 8 MP primary camera of Blackberry Classic is featured with a digital zoom, face detection, HDR and Geo-tagging. It gives you amazing pictures in day as well as night light. The 2 MP front-facing camera is also there for video conferencing.

Multimedia

The Blackberry Classic has an impressive music player that offers you pleasant sound which is even better with the supplied headphones. The video player gives you good image quality with clear sound. One can record 1080p full HD videos on to the device. It comes pre-loaded with various apps and HTML5 browser for the comfort of users.

Connectivity Options

The connectivity attributes of the Classic includes 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual band DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, micro USB v2.0, NFC, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and LE. It also features GPS and A-GPS which helps in navigation.
