Skin Disorder Caused by Excessive Gaming

It’s always interesting when “gaming” is associated to a bunch or disorders – mostly mental disorders. To be original, researchers from the University of Geneva have found a 12 years old young gamer with a skin lesion (sores) apparently caused by excessive gaming.

According to the researchers, the tight grip, associated with the sweaty palms (and probably the friction between the skin and the paddle) caused the sores.

Sony sells 500 Million PSP units across the Globe

The very popular PlayStation Portable has escalated Sony’s position to Cloud Number 9 by attaining a selling mark of 500 million units, worldwide. Sony has announced that the first handheld platform from the PlayStation family has reached the 500 million mark worldwide, in terms of sales.

Started with the PSP-1000, there were basic features in the console for gamers to play while on the go. Later, the company enhanced the portable gaming console with slim and light form factor and incorporation of Skype for enhanced entertainment.

Further, they advanced it to the next level with the PSP-3000 series that featured a 4.3-inch wide, high resolution LCD screen and a built-in microphone without compromising on the design and size.

The PlayStation blog has just released a notice that their new PSP firmware update v5.03 will be out soon, although we’re not sure just how far (or near) it is away.

Nothing major can be expected here, apart from the fact that overall system software stability will be improved when certain features are in use.

At first they were rumors but if this new device from Ninentdo, the new Nintendo DSi, does come out this April then expect a lot of people looking into this handy device. A successor to the Nintendo DS Lite, this latest offering is 12 percent thinner and comes with two VGA digital cameras.

It also comes with better speakers, a power button instead of the switch found on the DS Lite, five brightness settings, a new SD card slot for data storage and multimedia content, the ability to update firmware when needed, and 256 MB of internal flash memory.

OCZ Technology has just rolled out its Flex EX memory series that bring both DDR2 and DDR3 memory modules specifically for PC gaming.

Xbox 360 console has a 1 million lifetime sales lead over the Sony PS3 across five major European territories – the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. Both Microsoft and Sony are fighting for crumbs left over after Nintendo has eaten the cake. Strange to see the fight for second place to be so intense.

The Sony PSP-3000 is finally available in North America, and it will be released as the PSP-3000 Ratchet & Clank Entertainment Pack. The entire bundle will cost $199.99.

The silver pack is out in the whole of Europe save for the UK that is lagging by one day behind in terms of availability. EU countries will also receive the black bundle next month just like their counterparts across the pond.
