Mercury launches 2.0 MM Speakers, the Mercury S230 and S240. They are 620 Watt speakers which have a two way speaker design. On the other hand, the Mercury S210 and S220 are 440Watt speakers. These two are mercury multimedia speakers which are compatible with the PCs, notebooks and MP3 players, CD players or any other digital audio devices. The all new speakers would be available in the range of Rs. 250 to Rs. 500.

Sony has come up with desktop speaker systems that comprise of the SRS-M50 (a set of 5W travel speakers), the SRS-Z50 (a two piece system with a 38mm Neodymium driver unit and “rich bass reproduction”), the SRS-D25 (a 25W 3-piece set that boasts a stylish “hatbox” subwoofer) and the high end SRS-Z100, capable of pumping out 25W of power with “enhanced bass response” and “detailed and crisp high frequencies.”

Zumreed has come up with Flash Beat which is actually a downward-firing speaker that is surrounded by a rapidly spinning pink light. The light will remain idle - at least until your rockin’ tunes kick in, whereby the light will then react accordingly.

Dahl Audio recently rolled out its Bluetooth portable speaker known as Foxl at the recently concluded IFA 2008. It goes without saying that you will need a Bluetooth-enabled handset or device to work with the Foxl. No idea on pricing or availability, but the lithium ion battery is able to run for up to 5 hours before it needs a recharge.

Sony Ericsson HCB-108 Bluetooth speakerphone is touted to have the longest talk and standby time in the market, where you can talk for up to 25 hours non-stop before it requires a trip to the nearest juice station. It is connected to your car’s visor sans wires, or transported over to your desk to be used as a speakerphone.

Features include true duplex audio quality with echo reduction, noise cancellation and Digital Signal Processing. No idea on pricing, but the HCB-108 will be out in selected markets sometime this Q4 in black and silver colors.
