The BlackBerry Application Suite has just been announced, and it will be able to run on selected Windows Mobile 6.x Pro devices, allowing users to play with the BlackBerry shell on their smartphone instead of subjecting themselves to laggy Windows Mobile 6.x performance. This virtual environment will boast support for BlackBerry email, phone, calendar, address book, tasks, memos, browser and instant messaging, in addition to other applications developed for the BlackBerry platform. You won’t get video playback though, but that’s not too big a deal if you’re more of a business executive.

RIM’s BlackBerry OS 4.5 has been on its site for a while now, but AT&T has only just gotten around to announcing the arrival of the OS for its 8220, 8320 and 8310 handsets. Of course, if you’re a savvy BlackBerry user you probably would have just deleted the vendor.xml file to use the OS build from any other carrier on your BlackBerry.

RIM’s BlackBerry and other smart phones have been troublesome to market in South Korea due to a rule that requires all devices to carry special software adapted to South Korea’s wireless internet platform and manufacturers have been unwilling to bear the additional cost of modifying their phones.
Fortunately this rule will be abolished from April 1st, which should see more smart phones coming to South Korea. Following this, RIM and SK Telecom have announced that the BlackBerry Bold 9000 will be launched on December 29th for corporate customers, which should see BlackBerrys slowly start coming to the South Korean market.

BlackBerry owners who are using the latest Google Sync update will also benefit from a feature that appeared originally on the Android-powered T-Mobile G1 - an on-device contact synchronization with G-mail’s address book, and vice versa. Sounds like a great way to help you maintain your contacts on hand.

Verizon BlackBerry 9530 Storm all set for launch on November 24. As the company’s first touchscreen BlackBerry handset, the BlackBerry Storm 9530 boasts a new kind of touchscreen that actually “clicks.”
Rather than relying solely on resistive (pressure-based, “squishy” touchscreens) or capacitance (touch-based, “hard” touchscreens) touchscreen technology, RIM has endowed their new touchy-feely BlackBerry Storm with a touchscreen display capable of “clicking” like a mouse button. BlackBerry Storm users will have the distinction of not only owning the first touchscreen BlackBerry smartphone but will also be among the first to give the “clickable” touchscreen a whirl.
