HTC and Microsoft have been perfect for each other since a long time ago, and the result of this strong partnership can be easily seen if we look at HTC’s portfolio of Windows Mobile smartphones.
However, since Google’s Android came into play in late 2008, it seems as though HTC has starting to neglect Windows Mobile more and more. In the light of this, it’s interesting how now – only now – Microsoft has unveiled that HTC’s Android smartphones are using technology patented by the Redmond giant. In consequence, HTC had to make an agreement with Microsoft, and it will pay royalties for using its patents.
