Lava Iris 349i is the new creation announced by the Lava company. Its box contents includes a handset, battery, charger, earphone, USB cable, user manual and warranty card.

Design and Display

It has been carved in a bar format with slightly curved edges. The front panel features a 4 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen that provides a resolution of 320x480 pixels and three soft touch buttons beneath it. While the back panel has a rugged surface to have better grip and comes with the camera lens and speaker grill affixed on the top.

Hardware and Software

It is powered by 1 GHz Single Core processor and is accompanied by 256 MB RAM which can handle routine tasks well. The device operates on the 2.3 version namely Gingerbread Android Operating System. Also, it comes paired with 512 MB of on-board storage which can be expanded up to 16 GB with a microSD card.

Telephony and Messaging

It operates on the 2G GSM 900 / 1800 MHz network frequencies and comes with the dual SIM compatibility. Both GSM connections can be used at the same time due to its dual stand-by feature. For messaging, the device facilitates SMS, MMS and Email features along with the T9 dictionary and Predictive Text Input support. Besides the basic calling features, it supports auto call recording, blacklist and handsfree options.

Camera

For the camera seekers, the Lava Iris 349i comes assembled with a 2 MP rear camera that takes pictures at a max resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. Also a 0.3 MP front shooter has been added to enable selfies and video chats.

Entertainment

With this device you can play your favorite music track with the built-in music player or can choose to listen FM radio. Other than this, it comes loaded with a video player, video recorder, voice recorder and image viewer. User can enjoy playing embedded games in his/her leisure time or can even download more games. Even the social networking services like Facebook and Twitter has also been availed to remain in-touch with your friends and family.

Connectivity and Battery

For connectivity, the smartphone comes with the GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi attributes of networking. You can also create a Wi-Fi Hotspot that allows you to share your internet connection. Also Bluetooth and USB connectivity can be used for transferring data among compatible devices. On the battery front, it comes fitted with a Li-ion battery of 1400 mAh.
