Maxx Mobile Communications Limited is an Indian company headquartered in Mumbai. It deals with the manufacturing of mobiles and its accessories. The Maxx Genx Droid 7 AX356 is its new creation that is meant to satisfy the increasing demands of customers at a reasonable price.

Design and Display

Keeping the device simple in looks, it carries a HVGA multi-touch, capacitive touchscreen of 3.5 inches with a resolution of 320x480 pixels and has three soft touch buttons beneath it. Its dimension figures includes a height of 116.3 mm, width of 61.1 mm and thickness of 10.4 mm. With a weight of only 107.6 grams, this device is easy to hold and carry in pocket.

Hardware and Software

The handset has been powered by 1 GHz Dual Core processor with MediaTek chipset working in it. It has been accompanied by 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. This can be extended up to 32 GB with the help of a microSD card. It operates on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean Operating system and comes along with the gravity and accelerometer sensors.

Telephony and Messaging

This dual SIM handset works on the 2G ( GSM 900 / 1800 MHz ) and 3G ( HSDPA 2100 MHz ) network frequencies. SMS, MMS, push mail and predictive text input are some of the services available on the messaging part.

Camera

In the shooting cam department, the smartphone scores well. It packs a 3.2 MP rear camera with a picture resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. Besides basic features like digital zoom and LED Flash, it has some advanced features as well like panorama, camera effects, smile and face detection. Also the company has fitted a basic 0.3 MP camera at the front to facilitate selfies and video chatting.

Entertainment

The smartphone packs quite a few goodies to keep you busy. It comes with both a music player and  a video player. On the audio front, the handset supports MP3, MIDI, AAC, AAC+, OGG, Flac, WAV and MP4A formats with ease. The video player supports 3GP, AVI, MP4, MKV and MOV formats. Social networking services has also been facilitated with the ability to download Whatsapp, Skype, Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, Hangout and YouTube applications. There are embedded games that can be played like BubbleBash3, ModernCombat4 and Prince of Persia plus many can still be downloaded. Other than this, it avails FM radio, sound recorder and image editor.

Connectivity and Battery

The device has 2G and 3G support for various connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, GPRS and EDGE. Plus Bluetooth and USB connectivity can be used for sharing files among devices. There is an in- built GPS system to help in navigating through unknown places. To keep the tasks going for longer durations, it comes fueled with a Li-ion battery of 1200 mAh which ensures a standby time of 100 hours and talktime of 4 hours.

Pre loaded applications

On the apps front, the gadget is armed with various applications like MAXX World, MAXX life Box, MAXX Care, MAXX New Launch, Getit, Hungama, Office Suite, Opera Mini, OLX, Flipkart, WeChat launcher and Google Applications.

The phone can be purchased in color combinations of Black with Red and Yellow with Silver at a price of Rs 4,392 approximately.
