MDA Basic is the name of the latest smartphone from T-Mobile’s MDA line-up. The device was just announced in Germany and it’s actually a T-Mo personalized version of HTC Touch Viva, which has been around since last year.

As its name suggests, the MDA Basic is not a high-end handset. However, it comes with Windows Mobile 6.1, a 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi and a 2MP camera – all of which are quite nice features for a basic device. German customers will be able to buy the new smartphone starting February 2009, for as low as €4.95 with a 2-yr contract agreement.
