Motorola Launches FR68 & FR6000 Handheld Computers

Motorola launches a series of handheld computers, targeted at sales professionals from sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, retail and transportation among others. It has introduced two B2B (business-to-business) handsets – FR68 and FR6000 – designed especially for the Asia-Pacific region.

Mr. Ramesh Sundararaman said “The FR series mobile phones are rugged devices. It is made to serve the needs of sales professionals from retail, logistics, healthcare, transportation, utilities, public safety and manufacturing.”

Symbol Technologies India is a Bangalore based company under NYSE-listed Motorola. The newly launched FR series have been manufactured in China and are equipped with broadband, GPRS, dust and water-resistance, GPS navigation, barcode scanner and break-proof, among others.

Country Head & Indian sub-continent Sales Director, Mr. Jayant Rastogi said “These are priced between $1,400-2,000 (Rs 70,448 -1,00,640 as per today’s exchange rate). The mobile phone has been approved break-proof and the keypad has passed the stress-test for a million taps.” The break-even target for the FR series is yet to be revealed.
