Oppo is a Chinese manufacturer of electronics based in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. It was founded by Tony Chen in the year 2004. The company has introduced a wide range of smartphones like N1 Mini, Find 7 and R3 to the Chinese market in June, 2014. This is a speculation that these phones will be available in India but no official announcement has been made yet. Let's check what Oppo has packed into the R3.

Design and Display

Oppo R3 is crafted from premium quality materials that imparts a stylish look to the phone. The R3's body is covered by glass and metallic accents. The phone not only looks good but even feels good to hold. The R3 is one of the thinnest phone which is just 6.3 mm in thickness and has a weight of 140 grams. This bar shaped device features a 5-inches wide HD IPS capacitive touchscreen which provides a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and 293 ppi pixel density.

Hardware and Software

Oppo R3 is powered by a quad-core 1.6 GHz processor with Qualcomm snapdragon MSM8928 chip-set and Adreno 305 GPU. The device is coupled with a RAM of 1 GB and an internal memory of 8 GB which can be expanded further with the help of a micro SD card. It operates on Color 1.4 based on Android v4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.

Telephony and Messaging

The R3 supports 2G (GSM), 3G (HSDPA) and 4G (LTE) networks. The phonebook has the capacity to store an unlimited number of contacts. Moreover, the call quality delivered is good at all the times. There is a messaging and email facilitates available for the Oppo R3 that keeps you stay connected with your near and dear ones. It also features T9 dictionary and predictive text input which makes typing easier and faster.

Camera

Oppo R3 comes equipped with a brilliant rear camera of 8 MP with LED flash that takes 3264x2484 pixel resolution pictures. It is featured with 1/3.2-inch sensor, 1.4 micron pixels and a large f/2.0 aperture. While the secondary camera has a good 5 MP count that takes 2560x1920 resolution selfies and enables video calling. The camera shots memorable moments in day as well as night light.

Oppo R3 has a music player and FM radio which offers awesome sound quality and better listening experience. The video player gives you amazing picture quality with solid surround sound. One can record 720p HD videos on to the Oppo R3 as well. The above mentioned features provide entertainment to the users. The PI engine original painting brightly colored night shoot O-Video function allows you to shot in night light also.

Connectivity and Battery

The connectivity options available for Oppo R3 are GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hands-free, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. The A-GPS support is also there to facilitate navigation. The R3 comes equipped with a Li-Ion 2420 mAh battery that lasts longer even with extensive usage.

Oppo R3 comes in two shades that are White and Black. The expected price of the device is Rs. 22,000 approx.
