Oppo designs and develops attractive and innovative mobile phones. The 'R5' is a smartphone which is announced in October, 2014. The box comes packed with a handset, charger, battery, headset, USB cable, user manual and warranty card. Let's take a closer look at the specifications of this smartphone.

Design and Display

Oppo R5 is a stylish smartphone as far as looks are concerned. The sheer slimness and compact form factor makes the phone easy to fit in most palms. It has got a height of 148.9 mm, width of 74.5 mm and thickness of 4.85 mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 155 grams. The front panel is dominated by a Full HD AMOLED capacitive touchscreen of 5.2-inches which provides a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. It has the capacity to display 16 Million colors and features a multi-touch input method. The accelerometer, compass and proximity sensors are also there.

Hardware and Software

The smartphone is powered by a super-fast Octa-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 processor accompanied by a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chip-set and Adreno 405 GPU to ensure a smart performance. It has a RAM of 2 GB and an internal storage of 16 GB. The R5 is based on the Android version 4.4.2 KitKat platform.

Telephony and Messaging

The device operates at frequencies of GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, HSDPA 850/900/1700/1900/2100 MHz and LTE 700/800/900/1700/1800/2100/2600 MHz . The user can store a huge number of contacts to its phonebook memory. The SMS, MMS, IM, email and push mail are the messaging facilities available for the device.

The 13 MP rear camera comes with a number of features like Ultra-HD, Colorful Night, Beautify, HDR, Slow Shutter, Panorama, Expert Mode, Audio Photo, Raw, Super Macro, GIF, Double Exposure, and After Focus. It also features LED flash for low light imaging. The 5 MP front-facing camera of phone captures 2592x1944 resolution selfies and enables the users to video calling.

The Oppo R5 offers you an amazing viewing, gaming, browsing, streaming, imaging and many more. Games and movies looks extremely good on the bright wide display of phone. It comes equipped with a good quality music and video player for listening pleasure and entertainment. A number of apps comes pre-loaded on the phone including Google search, maps, You-tube, Gmail etc.

Connectivity and Battery

The connectivity attributes of the device include GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth v4.0, micro USB v2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot and 3G facilities. It also supports GPS and A-GPS for navigation. It is fueled by a Li-Po 2000 mAh battery which assures you a better back up.
