Panasonic has launched a new smartphone to the P-series called the Panasonic P81. The box packs a charger, earphone, handset, USB cable, battery and user manual. The details are discussed below.

Design and Display

The Panasonic P81 is a sleek and stylish offering with a 7.9 mm profile. This smartphone not only looks good but even feels good to hold. The front is dominated by a HD IPS display of 5.5-inches which provides a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. There is no hard key present, only three feather touch soft keys for options, home and back.

Hardware and Software

Housing the device is a super fast octa-core 1.7 GHz processor with MediaTek MT6592 chip-set and Mali450-MP4 GPU. The P81 has a massive RAM of 1 GB and an internal storage of 8 GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB via micro SD card. It runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

Telephony and Messaging

The Panasonic P81 is a Dual SIM device which operates on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, 2G and 3G frequencies. One can store an unlimited number of contacts to the phonebook. There is a SMS, MMS and email facility available for the device.

Camera

The brilliant 13 MP rear camera comes with a LED flash, auto-focus, digital zoom and takes 4128x3096 resolution pictures. The front facing camera has a 2 MP which takes 1600x1200 resolution shots and enables the users to video calling.

Connectivity and Battery

The connectivity attributes of the device includes 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, EDGE, GPRS and micro USB. The P81 is fueled by a Li-Ion 2500 mAh battery which delivers a talk-time up to 13 hours and stand by up to 650 hours.
