Toshiba embarks on more spacious 10-inch screens, with its refreshing line of netbooks. The UX-series netbooks are based on the N280 version of Intel’s Atom chip and come with 1GB of memory and a 160GB hard disk drive.
The display of the new line up is a 10.1-inch LCD with 1,024×600 pixel resolution. It is to be mentioned that Toshiba’s previous Atom-based machine, the NB100, sported a similar resolution but on an 8.9-inch LCD. Many netbook vendors have been switching to the larger displays as consumers prefer them.
The Battery life of the new range has also been extended to about 4 hours, compared with 2.9 hours for the NB100. But the interesting fact is that despite its larger screen the new model is smaller, at 26.3 centimeters by 19.2cm by 3.1cm. The computer weighs between 1.2 kilograms and 1.3kg depending on the configuration.
The UX-series computers will be launched in Japan and then in the other markets. However, Toshiba has not declared any precise international launch dates.

Casio EXILIM Zoom EX-Z29 packs in pretty standard specifications including a 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor with 3x optical zoom lens, a 2.7″ LCD display, an SD/SDHC memory card slot and a paltry 17.8MB of internal flash memory.
Still, this won’t weigh down your pocket with its 3.64″ x 2.16″ x 0.91″ measurements, and neither will it lighten your bank account by much considering it is going for just $149.99 this April in black, silver, blue, pink and purple colors.

Enjoy movies as you would in a Cinema theatre as Philips announces its cinema-proportioned LCD television, Cinema 21:9. It boasts of a 56-inch screen with 21:9 aspect ratio, thus giving you a Cinema kind of feel. Experience a remarkable home cinematic viewing with its three-sided Ambilight Spectra combined with the on-screen action.
Unlike traditional LCD, it does not distort the picture to cover the screen, rather Cinema 21:9 resolves these problems and brings to you an excellent viewing experience. The 16:9 content from TV broadcasts and games consoles fills its 21:9 screen, thanks to the advanced formatting technology. The Cinema 21:9 LCD TV is said to be available in spring 2009. There has been no word on the pricing.
