The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness is a phone with a simple design, bringing together “beautiful craftsmanship and the concept of talk, text, time – a holiday from technology.”And to continue with the PR language, the Xperia Pureness “approaches the mobile phone as a work of art rather than technology.” Reportedly, Sony Ericsson’s designers “aimed to sculpt an object of design that reflected the purity of water and a sense of calmness when not in use.”

The wait is over with Expansys revealed the valuable specifications of the Android based Sony Ericsson’s phone. The reports termed the phone as Xperia X5.
We have online retailer Expansys posting a page with a detailed description of a phone that is none other than the Rachael and surprisingly, this one comes with the “X3″ tag and not the X5 as most had expected.
According to Gizmo do, this phone sports a 4-inch 800 x 400-pixel touchscreen display and an 8 MP camera with LED flash for clicking clear pictures. It has VGA video recording and is equipped with the Rachael user interface. It has Quad-band GSM connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and Dual-band 3G (900/2100MHz) with HSDPA 10Mbps and HSUPA 2Mbps.

The phone features a 3.5 mm audio jack and also has email support (POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, and MS Exchange). It also possesses a miniUSB and offers microSDHC card capabilities.
The Rachael is likely to could turn around Sony Ericsson’s fledgling fortunes. Due to the increased competition from the big rivals like Apple, Samsung and LG, the company has been struggling to maintain its overall standing in the market. On top of this the unexciting product line, almost spelled doom for the company.

Sony Ericsson’s very old news seems to be on June 17, there was this talk about Sony Ericsson announcing its next generation Xperia – the X2. However, the news was a waste as Sony Ericsson hastily cancelled the event of the launch because Samsung (as usual) dropped a bombshell in the form of the Omnia 2 that made Xperia X2’s look low.
Sony Ericsson seems determined to expand its XPERIA mobile phone series and is now reported to have plans of launching no more than three new devices that will fit into the family. The three new upcoming devices are named XPERIA X2, X3 and X5 have been announced to be launched in near future. There were rumors of it to be launched officially on July 17.
XPERIA family is not only adding member to it, but it feels as if it will be expanding to more operating systems than Microsoft’s Windows Mobile that came along with the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. The new X2 is preferably on the same platform as X1, yet the X5 is suppose to be newly unveiled Rachael, should come to the market with Android.
The upcoming X3 is reported to be an interesting device as it is reported to be none other than the also recently spotted Sony Ericsson Kiki, which will come to the shelves with a transparent display. There is no X4 in the series yet. The information about the device is unfortunately limited to this. Yet, in case the company is indeed set to announce the handsets as soon as rumored, it won’t be long before more info will be obtained.
The news of the near launch was reveled through Twitter, UnwiredView reports, and no exact details on what the company has in store for us have been unveiled, yet we’re pretty sure that the hopes of a lot of enthusiasts out there are high already. Rachael is not the only one most interesting Android handsets in the market, considering the interface it is expected to come with, but Kiki might also become a popular phone, for its design seems rather mysterious, with no visible buttons on the face cover.
The handset market has not been easy for everyone: former leaders Nokia and Sony Ericsson are having a hard time posting good numbers, although, Nokia has managed to earn $380M (-65%) while Sony Ericsson was posting a loss of $299M.
Nokia has had difficulties in developed countries as the coolness of its brand is eroding. The company has engaged in a wide range of initiatives (OS, store, handsets) to change course, but this will likely take at least a couple of years to form. Sony Ericsson is in deep trouble: it does not have a good way of taking the lead in terms of software or handset design.
