This is the entry level model from the new Samsung H-series camcorders, unlike the other 3 models it does not have an internal SSD but requires a SD/SDHC card. Thanks to the H.264 compression, users can record up to six hours of full HD video on a 32 GB SDHC card, since on average people record only 30 min of video each time, this less expensive model is a good choice for the regular users.
The Schneider Kreuznach lens features a 10x optical zoom with the new Samsung Optical Image Stabilizer and offers a 37 mm wide-angle focal unlike most of the camcorders available on the market (typically 40-50 mm). Other features include HDMI connections to watch full HD video on a HDTV, a 2.7″ swiveling TFT LCD screen and a HD time lapse recording mode, that allows to record each image with a pre-selected time interval.

For those who are looking for a fast yet cheap way to have a fine-looking phone, here comes the Philips 9@9q. That old phone model isn’t quite fit for the runway, but its recently introduced holiday edition counterparts, the Dragon and Phoenix, can both live up to any fashion-conscious user’s expectations.
For starters, both the Dragon and Phoenix look as polished as any phone can get, with smooth curves outlining its small clamshell body. The inclusion of a discreet external display on both of the phone’s flip sides make it easy for the user to check out information such as unread messages, missed calls, and remaining battery power.

Much as it sounds unbelievable, a group of engineers at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology may have developed a road that can actually produce electricity when traffic runs over it. And no, it isn’t black magic - just science. The road contains tiny piezoelectric crystals that produce electricity when ’squeezed,’ which is what happens when vehicles pass over them.
According to the Israeli engineers, a 1km stretch of such a dual carriageway, embedded with the said piezoelectric crystals, can produce up to 400 kilowatts per hour. This electric road will actually be… road tested early next year, and real-world results will be evaluated.
Since a massive worldwide shift to electric cars is expected to happen over the next 10 years, the world will certainly need new sources of electricity, and this type of electricity-generating roads just might be one of those sources.

The 2009 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will debut an enhancement to the vehicle’s COMAND navigation and entertainment system called SPLITVIEW. Yes, you got it right, it’s going to appear in a production car. Basically, the COMAND 8 inch LCD screen at the front will be able to display two different screens depending on the angle you are viewing it from.
For example, the driver sitting on the left (in a left hand drive car) will be able to view a screen displaying GPS navigation maps and instructions while the front passenger viewing the screen from the right will be able to watch a DVD. To prevent distracting the driver, the passenger can use a supplied pair of headphones for the DVD’s audio.
This is achieved by a technique that places pixels adjacent to each other, then using a filter that divides the image in such a way that only certain pixels can be seen depending on the viewing angle.
