Samsung India has launched the C5130 in Indian market. Designed specially for users with active social life, the handset’s homescreen comes with 8 favorite SNS shortcuts including Orkut, Picassa, Facebook, and YouTube. Owing to its integrated full HTML browser and 3G capability, users can easily surf internet on their devices, at a faster speed. With this capability, users can access favorite sites for news, weather updates and various blogs.

Nokia India Announced Nokia 6700 Slide and 7230

Nokia the worlds leading mobile phone giant today announced the launch of Nokia 6700 Slide and Nokia 7320 . The Nokia 6700 Slide and Nokia 7230 GSM mobile phones are compatible with UMTS/3G network and also optimized for social networking direct from the mobile phone over the internet.

The Nokia 6700 Slide features include 5 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Dual LED flash and capture key, Internet browsing with HSDPA and HSUPA and support for email and Ovi chat, FM radio and music player and support for up to 16GB microSD memory card. The phone packs S60 based operating system and it comes with 3G/UMTS connectivity. Its functions are useful in the way they should be. Nokia 6600i Slide Launched In India

Indian consumers who want style in their mobile phone at an affordable price can now go out and buy one after Nokia announced the launch of its new slide phone - Nokia 6600i Slide . Priced attractively at Rs 13,000, the phone has dimensions of 93.0 x 45.0 x 14.2 mm and weighs just 110 grams.

The new slide phone also has the capability of doubling as a modem. Some of the best features in the 6600i include Nokia Xpress audio messaging, and speed dialing for SMS sending. Nokia 6600i is equipped with a TFT screen of 2.2″ , which supports a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels (QVGA). It also has a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and double LED flash.

The Nokia 6600i has an in-built Nokia Music player and offers support for mp3, .wma, .aac, eAAC, eAAC+ formats. Furthermore FM radio users can access channels from 87.5-108 MHz with RDS support. Coming to the e-mail features, the Nokia 6600i supports IMAP4, POP3, SMTP formats. Nokia also said that e-mail attachments are also supported by the phone. The Nokia 6600i has 20 MB internal user memory, which is expandable to 16 GB via the micro SD slot. The new phone is available in black and silver colors and has a talk time of four hours on GSM networks. Nokia 6600i also offers seamless network connectivity support for 3G, EDGE, GPRS, GSM, 3G, EDGE, GPRS, GSM, HSCSD, UMTS (3G) networks, 850,900, 1800, 1900, 2100 services.

Nokia E72 Launched In India

LG GD900 Crystal transparent phone launched in India

LG India has launched its innovatively designed handset dubbed GD900 Crystal for Indian consumers. The device boasts of LG’s advanced touch technology and Gesture Command. The LG Crystal claims to be the world’s first transparent handset and features intuitive 3D S-class UI. The GD900 sports a 7.62 cms WVGA full touchscreen display and incorporates an alphanumeric keypad that doubles as a touchpad for controlling the handset.

HTC launches Android-based Tattoo in India

HTC today introduced a new Android-based handset in the Indian market named, HTC Tattoo which offers the user to customize the handset. The handset is positioned around three core principles of HTC Sense, Make it Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected. The handset has a 2.8-inch QVGA display, comes integrated with Google Search, Google Mail, Android Market, 3,2 mega pixel camera, 3.5 mm stereo headset jack and expandable microSD.

The handset is also being offered as part of a bundled package to Vodafone Essar subscribers. Nokia plans to launch m-banking services

Despite a tough regulatory environment for mobile banking in India, Nokia expects to soon roll out its financial and banking services in the country under the banner of ‘Nokia Money’. The world’s largest mobile phone company has initiated talks with six banks in India who will be responsible for cash management and handling banking regulatory issues. As per Nokia’s strategy, it plans to tap its huge network of 1.9 lakh phone retailers and dealers who will act as the consumer point and banking correspondents.

Nokia will offer an universal platform where the mobile phone can be a medium for banking, international remittance, payment of utility bills, pay merchants for goods and services and buying tickets. “India figures amongst the top 20 countries where we plan to roll out Nokia Money in the first phase. While at present Indian banks may have a mobile banking platform, it is limited to a single bank and telecom operator. What we plan to offer is a full-fledged service which will bring together all banks, operators and even handsets of other brands,” said Teppo Paavola, global head of Nokia Money service. Talking about the regulatory challenges in India, Mr Paavola said the key issue will be to turn the Nokia retailers into Nokia Money agent.

Fly reveals MC160 and E106 in India

Fly Mobile has announced the launch of two new dual SIM touchscreen handsets in India at very affordable prices. The new phones launched are the MC160 and the E106 , both of which are targeted at the youth. Fly has priced these handsets in the Rs. 5,300 to Rs. 6,000 price range, which, according to the company, is way lower than the Rs. 8,000 mark that is usually where basic touchscreen handsets are priced. Additionally, these phones also boast of dual SIM capability, which is rarely seen on most low priced touchscreen phones of today.

First off, we have the MC 160, which is also promoted as a music centric handset with a Yamaha chipset that is claimed to enhance music playback quality. The MC 160 boasts of a QVGA touchscreen that displays 262k colors. It has a decent 3.2 megapixel camera and supports memory expansion with microSD cards. This is apart from the 89MB internal memory that the phone comes with. On the connectivity front, the phone is EDGE and GPRS capable, with support for Bluetooth for local file transfers. No sign of Wi-Fi here - but then that is excused considering the price at which this will retail.

The MC 160 supports video recording, self-help feature, A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Protocol), card slot, mobile tracker with remote control capabilities, privacy protection feature, and a phonebook that can store up to 2,000 records. The MC 160 is priced at Rs. 6,000.

Next in line is the Fly Mobile E106 - which happens to be the second cheap touchscreen phone announced by Fly. This one is a dual SIM phone as well, that boasts of a 2.4 inch QVGA screen with 262K colors. The E106 supports FM radio with recording, Bluetooth, GPRS, talk time of 4 hours and a standby time of 240 hours, A2DP, live MSN and motion sensors. The phone also has a basic 2 megapixel camera that should capture decent images.

The E106, Like the MC 160 supports memory expansion, video recording, and a phonebook that can hold 1000 records. The E106 has been priced at Rs. 5,300 in Indian - making it one of the most affordable touchscreen phones in the market.
