The latest 8 GB High-Capacity (SDHC) and 16GB microSD High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash memory cards have been launched by Kingston, adding to its comprehensive mobile memory storage line.
According to a release quoting Scott Chen, Vice President of APAC Region, Kingston, “Consumers are demanding more from their mobile phones, expecting them to perform as portable music or game players, digital cameras, email communicators, browsers and navigators. Having enough storage capacity, particularly in the form of memory cards, keeps internal device memory free to deliver all this multi-functionality. Our 8GB and 16GB microSDHC cards are so roomy that mobile users can easily move entire digital libraries from a PC to their mobile phones – and beyond.”
Currently, the new Kingston microSDHC 8GB and 16GB cards are priced at Rs. 1,699 and Rs. 4,499 respectively. Although the microSDHC format physically resembles the original microSD card, it is compatible with microSDHC host devices only. Therefore, it is not backward compatible with standard microSD-enabled devices or readers.

According to a recent rumor, Apple may incorporate cameras in future iPod devices. Thus, next generation iPods could include cameras too according to Hardmac, the English-language version of the French MacBidouille. The cameras could be included in the Touch and the Nano versions of the iPod.
The reason to add a camera to the iPod seems quite logical as it could help widen the camera-related application market on the App Store. Moreover, the applications can be expandable in the future with the release of the upcoming iPhones, as video recording could be one of the highlights of these gadgets.
At the moment no details of these camera enabled gadgets are available, while it can only be guessed if they will be affordable. The next official generation of iPods and iPhones may launch around September, 2009.

Word on the street has it that LG will be releasing a new 12-megapixel cell phone later this year, and it remains to be seen whether such a rumor will come true or not, but we will only know by waiting it out.
Well, 12-megapixels could be the new 8-megapixel camera phones that are starting to flood the market these days, but frankly, all those extra megapixels won’t amount to much considering the lens isn’t up to par with that of a standard digital camera.

A Credit Suisse report states that, Netbooks, or low-cost laptops would significantly contribute to the high sales of personal computers (PCs – both desktops and laptops).
According to the report, over the next three to five years, these cheap laptops and netbooks could add 170-250 million units globally to the current figure of around 300 million units. Infact, Netbooks sales, alone, could be 25 million units in 2009.
The report highlights the fact that the sale of handsets in countries like India shed light on the fact that volumes increase when infrastructure and device affordability improve.
The new small-form factor, better affordability, better design, and most importantly improving data connectivity and changing consumer attitude towards connectedness and internet communities would mean that a truly mobile PC will become more of a personal device.
In India, low-cost PCs are finding takers and the numbers say it all. For the first quarter of 2009, the total netbook unit shipment touched 35,000 units, according to research firm Gartner. This is not all; vendors are also improving this category by introducing better features.
