This year, Sony unveiled its Vaio P series known as netbook, but Sony disagreed to it and called it a ‘lifestyle PC’. But Vaio P was a big BOO BOO! As the price of it was $1000 too high for a low powered atom processor with a sleek pocket-size design. Leaving it neither a full featured laptop because of the low powered processor and nor a netbook because netbooks due to its price as currently due to recession it does not sell in that price.
Now, it feels as if Sony is on the perfect path with the new release of its Vaio W series, which looks and works like a netbook from all sides.
The new Sony Vaio W netbooks wil be released in mid-August and will have a 10.1″ display. It wil be priced for just $500. The Vaio W series, just like other netbooks will be powered by an Atom processor, 1GB Ram and Windows XP. 160GB although Engadget notes that one should not expect a SSD option.
The W series netbooks will also sport a 1366 x 768 high resolution LED backlit screen that will make browsing web pages easy with no side-to-side scrolling. The series includes SD card slot, webcam built in and for connectivity there is Bluetooth and wifi too although there is no mention about GPS and 3G.
The netbook race is certain to have a tough competition with the new release of Sony. Although price is relatively high than other netbooks in the market, but its SONY brand matters a lot!

Sony Ericsson’s very old news seems to be on June 17, there was this talk about Sony Ericsson announcing its next generation Xperia - the X2. However, the news was a waste as Sony Ericsson hastily cancelled the event of the launch because Samsung (as usual) dropped a bombshell in the form of the Omnia 2 that made Xperia X2’s look low.
Sony Ericsson seems determined to expand its XPERIA mobile phone series and is now reported to have plans of launching no more than three new devices that will fit into the family. The three new upcoming devices are named XPERIA X2, X3 and X5 have been announced to be launched in near future. There were rumors of it to be launched officially on July 17.
XPERIA family is not only adding member to it, but it feels as if it will be expanding to more operating systems than Microsoft’s Windows Mobile that came along with the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. The new X2 is preferably on the same platform as X1, yet the X5 is suppose to be newly unveiled Rachael, should come to the market with Android.
The upcoming X3 is reported to be an interesting device as it is reported to be none other than the also recently spotted Sony Ericsson Kiki, which will come to the shelves with a transparent display. There is no X4 in the series yet. The information about the device is unfortunately limited to this. Yet, in case the company is indeed set to announce the handsets as soon as rumored, it won’t be long before more info will be obtained.
The news of the near launch was reveled through Twitter, UnwiredView reports, and no exact details on what the company has in store for us have been unveiled, yet we’re pretty sure that the hopes of a lot of enthusiasts out there are high already. Rachael is not the only one most interesting Android handsets in the market, considering the interface it is expected to come with, but Kiki might also become a popular phone, for its design seems rather mysterious, with no visible buttons on the face cover.

According to a recent rumor, Apple may incorporate cameras in future iPod devices. Thus, next generation iPods could include cameras too according to Hardmac, the English-language version of the French MacBidouille. The cameras could be included in the Touch and the Nano versions of the iPod.
The reason to add a camera to the iPod seems quite logical as it could help widen the camera-related application market on the App Store. Moreover, the applications can be expandable in the future with the release of the upcoming iPhones, as video recording could be one of the highlights of these gadgets.
At the moment no details of these camera enabled gadgets are available, while it can only be guessed if they will be affordable. The next official generation of iPods and iPhones may launch around September, 2009.
