Low-Budget Eye Catching Smartphone With KitKat OS

The Karbonn Sparkle V Android One is the low- budget smartphone announced in September, 2014. It is a dual SIM eye catching device which offers smooth and stable performance. Priced aggressively, it competes with the Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Moto E. The sales package includes a charger, handset, headset, battery, USB cable, user manual and warranty card.

Display and Dimensions

The dual SIM smartphone features a 4.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive display with a resolution of around 480x854 pixels and a density of 218 pixels per inch. The viewing angles are not good and the user might see colors tilting along the screen while auto- rotation. The text is not bright and clear while browsing. It lacks crispness. So, display is not so good but considering the price it is okay. The dimensions are measured as 113mmx66mmx10.4mm and weighs at 138 grams. It has sensors like proximity sensor, accelerometer sensor and ambient light sensor.

Processor and Operating System

The smartphone boasts a 1.3 GHz, Quad- core Cortex- A7 processor which is clubbed with 1GB RAM. It works on Android v4.4.4 (KitKat) operating system which leads to the smooth functioning of the handset.

Camera and Storage

The Sparkle V comes with a 5 mega- pixel auto- focus snapper that poses a resolution of 2592x1944 pixels. The camera features includes face detection, geo-tagging, touch focus and digital zoom. It also has a LED flash which helps to take photos in low light conditions. It has 4GB internal memory which can be further expanded up to 32GB by using memory card slot. So, applications, videos, songs and games can reside easily.

Connectivity and Battery

For the purpose of connectivity, it comes packed with attributes like Bluetooth, GPS, GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi. The device has a meagre Li-Ion 1700 mAh battery which promises a talktime of up to 8 hours and up to 160 hours stand- by time.
