Philips is one of the largest Dutch diversified electronics company in the world. Its headquarters are located in Amsterdam. The company has announced a new smartphone, Philips I908 in the month of October, 2014. Let's check out the specifications of the phone in detail.

Design and Display

The sheer slimness and compact form factor of phone will amaze you. The device is light and can easily fit into most palms. It comes with a height of 143 mm, width of 70 mm and thickness of 8.8 mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 155 grams. The overall look of phone is impressive with a full HD TFT IPS capacitive touchscreen of 5.0-inches which provides a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. Below the screen, users get three feather touch soft keys for back, home and options.

Hardware and Software

The Philips I908 is powered by a Octa-core 1.7 GHz processor accompanied by a RAM of 2 MB. The MediaTek MT6592 chip-set with Mali 450-MP4 GPU is there to handle the apps thrown on its way. It has an internal storage of 16 GB which can be expanded further up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. This smartphone is based on latest Android version 4.4 KitKat operating system.

Telephony and Messaging

This dual SIM device operates on Quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and HSDPA 2100 MHz network frequencies. The smartphone has the capacity to store an unlimited number of contacts to its phonebook. The SMS, MMS, IM and email are the messaging facilities available for the device.

Camera

The I908 comes equipped with a 13 MP rear camera which provides an image resolution of 4128x3096 pixels. The camera features include a LED flash for low light conditions and digital zoom for far imaging. There is 5 MP front-facing camera for video calling purposes and clicking selfies.

Multimedia

The device comes equipped with a good quality music and video player for the entertainment of users. The FM radio is also there which allows you to stay tuned and listen to your favorite songs. The browser of phone allows the users to perform searches and other operations. It comes pre-loaded with popular apps like Facebook, Twitter, Google maps, Gmail, Google search and Google talk etc.

Connectivity and Battery

There are stacks of connectivity options as well, the phone supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0 A2DP, micro USB, hands-free, GPS and A-GPS. The device comes equipped with a Li-ion 3000 mAh battery which offers a talk-time up to 25 hours and stand by time up to 1080 hours.
