Overview

Low Cost Octa Core Powered Smartphone By XOLO

The XOLO Omega 5.0 is another low cost Octa core powered smartphone announced in December, 2014. Its finishing and build quality is good and the performance is smooth and pretty good. The camera quality is average and has decent battery backup. Inside the box, it has contents like charger, handset, battery, headset, USB cable, user manual and warranty card.

Display and Dimensions

As far as outlook is concerned, it looks like the Motorola mobiles and there are minor changes in the design. It's glossy back cover is removable and body is made up of plastic. There is a broad silver line that runs all around the sides and merges with the volume and power buttons becoming a part of it. It supports a 5 inch display that poses a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The touch is smooth and viewing angles are okay. It also comes packed with accelerometer sensor and proximity sensor. Weight with battery is 152 grams and it is measured as 144x72x10.5mm.

Processor and Operating System

It is using the 1.4GHz MediaTek MT6592 Octa core cortex A7 processor with Mali 450 MP- MP4, 600 MHz GPU. It offers a smooth and lag free performance. It is coupled with 1GB RAM which can be used to store songs, movies, documents and files. It runs Hive UI with Android 4.4.2. The Hive UI promises a different android experience.

Camera and Storage

There is 8MP auto- focus camera with Exmor R sensor on the rear and 2MP front facing shooter. Camera quality is good and has got a features like LED flash, digital zoom, face detection, smile detection and panorama. There is 8GB of storage space which is normal for handsets in this price range. It also has 32GB expandable memory which can be used by fixing microSD card.

Connectivity and Battery

As far as internet and connectivity section is concerned, it has got several options such as A- GPS, USB, GPS, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS and Wi-Fi. It is fueled by a 2100 mAh battery which delivers a talktime of up to 22 hours and standby time of upto 675 hours on 2G network. On 3G it offers talktime of upto 7.7 hours and standby time of upto 656 hours.
