ZTE is a Chinese multinational telecommunications which was founded by Hou Weigui in 1985. The ZTE V887 is a smartphone which was released in November, 2012. The pack includes a handset, charger, battery, headset, USB cable and user manual. Let's take a look at its specifications.

Design and Display

The ZTE V887 is designed by using a bar format which makes it easy to use and carry. The dimension figures include a height of 148mm, width of 78mm and a thickness of 10.3mm along with a weight of 140 grams. The smartphone comes with a nice large TFT capacitive touchscreen of 5.0-inches which provides a resolution of 800x480 pixels. It also features four soft touch keys which are quite responsive.

Hardware and Software

The ZTE V887 is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor with Mediatek MT6577 chip-set and PowerVR SGX531U GPU. The smartphone comes with a 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via micro SD card. It runs on the Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

Telephony and Messaging

This dual SIM device operates on GSM 900/1800/1900MHz and HSDPA 900/2100MHz frequencies. The V887 has the capacity to store an unlimited number of contacts to its phonebook. The messaging and emailing facilities available for the device includes SMS (threaded view), MMS, IM, email and push mail.

Camera

The 5 MP rear camera of ZTE V887 comes with an LED flash, digital zoom, Geo-tagging and auto-focus. It provides a photo resolution of 2592x1944 pixels. The front-facing camera is of 0.3 MP which enables the users to video calling.

Multimedia

The smartphone features a music player and FM radio which offers you clear and crisp sound. On the other hand, video player gives you a better viewing experience. The device comes pre-loaded with various apps for easy to use interface.

Connectivity and Battery

The connectivity options available for the V887 are GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB v2.0, hands-free and 3G connectivity. The device also features A-GPS in order to facilitate navigation. It is energized by a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery to ensure a better usage time.
